Financial Assistance

Y Assistance Program

Another vitally important part of membership are the final two words of our mission: “for all.” We believe that the opportunity to build healthy spirit, mind and body is an opportunity that must be accessible to everyone, so we are committed to providing Y Assistance to all in need, so that, together, we can all grow stronger. Our policy is never to turn a member away because of a financial reason.

To be considered forY Assistance, please stop by the Welcome Center at your local branch. Our Membership Leaders will review your paperwork and let you know what percentage you qualified for. You may join at that time or any time within six months of your approval. To continue with the program, you must be re-evaluated every year after your initial approval.

To be eligible for Y Assistance, you must have some reported income (wages, disability, Social Security, etc., or a combination thereof) or be a fulltime student. You also must have a permanent address.

When applying, please bring:

  • A copy of the most recent tax return (form 1040, not W-2's) or a written statement indicating why no taxes were filed.
  • All sources of income for the last 30 days including but not limited to: Payroll stubs, Social Security benefit letter, disability benefit letter, retirement pay (monthly or annual statement), reemployment benefit letter, pensions, etc. for every wage earner within the household.
  • A copy of a valid driver's license or state issued photo ID card.

Please provide copies of all of the above documents when you are applying.

Membership dues may be paid on the 1st or 15th of the month via automatic draft and you will be pro-rated based on the timing of the join date.

All participants will be re-evaluated annually. If you qualify to receive help with childcare, you will be re-evaluated during your afterschool care and/or Summer Camp registration periods.
