Ricky Curry has been a proud member of the YMCA since 1999. His fitness journey took a serious turn three years ago when he received a wake-up call from his doctor. At the time, Ricky was on nine medications for diabetes, hypertension, and high cholesterol, and had been using a CPAP machine for sleep apnea for 20 years. His doctor advised bariatric surgery, stating that his medications were tied to his weight.

Determined to take control of his health, Ricky embraced a new lifestyle centered around fitness and nutrition. He began with Spinning classes and treadmill workouts at the YMCA, which became his stabilizer and source of hope. Ricky's dedication paid of: He has lost an incredible 135 pounds and shed countless inches, as evident from his old shirt in this photo.

Fitness and nutrition are now integral parts of Ricky's life. He is gearing up to compete in a powerlifting competition in Jacksonville this July. Good luck, Ricky, and congratulations on your inspiring story!

Let's celebrate Ricky's incredible journey!

Keep up the fantastic work, Ricky! Your story is an inspiration to us all.
