Staff Spotlight: Dana White

Who are you?
Dana is a full-time mom & a part time group fitness instructor at our Gulf Breeze and Pensacola YMCA locations.
Where are you from? How did you end up in Pensacola?
I was born in Louisiana and made my way to Florida when I enrolled at UWF. I’m grateful to have been teaching group classes at the Y for about a year now!
How did you get into group fitness/fitness?
Growing up in the gym atmosphere gave me a love for fitness & made it a comfortable place for me.
I got group fitness certificated about 10 years ago with the hopes of making fitness feel like home for others as well.
If you could be an animal, what animal would you be and why?
If I could be an animal I would be a dog because they have given me so much joy & I would have the chance to give that to others!
What do you REALLY do at the Y?
What I really do at the Y is provide members the time & space to honor their body.
