Mission Moment – Y Reads highlights

Volunteers for the Y Reads program fill the Gulf Power Room as the Y Reads Director Rebecca presents information about the program.
September 1, 2024

This August we hosted a volunteer orientation for the Y Reads program. The program is expanding this school year, and will be operating in seven Escambia County elementary schools. Volunteers are always important to the program, providing mentoring to the children. We want to thank our new and returning volunteers for this year! If you're interested in learning more or getting involved check this page.

We're also hosting a book drive in the lobby at the Bear Levin Studer YMCA. New and gently used books are welcome, with a special focus on books for beginning readers (K-2). The Bodacious Bookstore across the street offers a discount for Y members if you're looking to pick up a book or two nearby.
