You will find Philip on our pool deck either teaching swim lessons or guarding. He is always ready to give helpful tips to swimmers at any time. Philip has been with us for just couple of months and has already made this place his home.

Why do you love working at the YMCA?

The children and youth of today’s society are in desperate need of strong support and guidance to become the leaders this country needs for the future. They YMCA and the Aquatics Department provide the facilities needed to support anyone who wants to become a better swimmer. I have always said that teaching swim lessons is the most rewarding job I have had. To taking a screaming child and teach them how to swim with a smile on their face and know that they are safe in the water is the best feeling.

Who inspires you?

Constantly inspired by the community around me and seeing individuals overcome obstacles in life. You never know where your help is going to come from.

What is a fun fact that few people know about you?

Taylor Swift invited me to be part of her Diet Coke commercial.

What do you really do at the YMCA?

I strive to be a better male role model for our children and the community.

If you can be any animal, what would it be?

An ant - they build great communities, and they are stronger than they look.
